Childrens Ministry is an important
activity, which teaches our children the Bible
and prepares them to become strong Christians and
witnesses to the world. The Childrens ministry
environment is kept clean, safe and with lots of
fun to make the learning easy.
- Cleanliness: A
clean environment around children is not only
healthy but inviting. We should also
be considerate of our landlord. Guidelines:
Clean up after activities. Secure doors and windows
before leaving. Dispose of trash after activities.
- Safety: Children
should be sitting with their parents or other
adults during worship time.
The food
served should be safe to eat. There are legal,
financial and insurance risks to the church
if this area is not taken care of. Guidelines:
Check
with parents regarding food allergies and
forbidden foods. At least 2 adults should be
working with
kids at all times. Keep hot foods hot (keep
in oven or crock pots), cold foods cold (keep
refrigerated).
Dispose off leftovers.
- Fun
Environment: The
teaching material should be prepared before the
kids arrive. Classes
are
preplanned and helpers are prepared well
in advance. Timely start and timely finish
are essential.
Guidelines: Use sign-up sheets. Create easy
and healthy menus. Introduce creativity and
fun into
all activities. Follow up with volunteers.
No cell phones, video games or electronic gadgets
are allowed during the class. They may be
used
after the class.
- The Childrens Ministry Team Leader plans, organizes
and executes children activities on Sundays
and other events with the help of ministry
helpers,
under the guidance of the Launch Team Leader.
He/she also manages the Children?s Ministry
budget, purchases supplies and is responsible
for the
property and items purchased by the team.
He/she also recruits volunteers in advance,
manages
schedules and distributes the workload. The
Children?s Ministry Team Leader welcomes new
members to
the church, engages them and helps foster
bonding with the other members of the church,
while maintaining
a pleasant disposition. He/she uses creativity
to solve problems and to come up with new
ideas to make this ministry an asset to the
expansion
of His kingdom.
But
Jesus called for them, saying, Permit the
children to come to Me, and do not hinder
them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these.
Truly I say unto you, whoever does not receive
the
kingdom of God like a child will not enter
it at all. Luke 18: 16
- 17.
